We all have New Year’s Resolutions. Why not End of the Year Resolutions?

We all have New Year’s Resolutions. Why not End of the Year Resolutions?

December 1, 2018 Off By Mehak Sharma

Happy December! With now exactly one month left to the new year, I thought I should inspire, motivate, and encourage as many as I could with one of my most-overused slogans both on and off the field hockey and rugby pitch.

“Finish strong.”

You can read December 1st as one month left to drag out until you can start over with a fresh, clean slate, one month left of non-stop holiday festivities to distract you from all of those stressful loose-ends and unfinished 2017 resolutions.

Or, you can read December 1st as one month left to finish what you started, one month left to make 2018 as memorable as possible, one month left to reverse bad habits, rectify tense relationships, organize stacks of bills, improve “iffy” grades, increase self-esteem, etc.

This December I challenge you to finish strong. I challenge you to enjoy yourself in the upcoming whirlwind of holiday spirit but to stay grounded and grind through every task, workout, and challenge head-on. I challenge you to challenge the hectic holiday season; stay on top of your diet, budget, mental health, and simple, everyday choices. I challenge you to leave nothing on the table in 2018 so when you look back, all you can do is smile, with no regrets. So, whatever you do, don’t slow down. Keep the drive going, the spirits high, and the focus on-point. Only those who give their all to finish what they started can begin to think about and pursue even bigger and better things. Those individuals are leaders. They are game changers.
